Kyrie Irving’s stats are impressive, to say the least. He won MVP in the 2014 NBA All-Star game and made the championship-winning three-pointer in game 7 of the 2016 NBA Finals against Golden State. Since then, he has been involved in a few controversies, including refusing to get the COVID-19 vaccine which benched him for the majority of the 2021–2022 season. He has also been verbal about supporting a movie that has been widely considered antisemitic. Due to his support of the film, Kyrie was suspended from playing in the NBA.
Many people aren’t aware the Kyrie was actually born in Australia. He considered representing them in the 2012 Olympics, however he chose to decline the position and went on to help win gold for the United States in the 2016 Olympics. In 2014, Irving was named USA Basketball Male Athlete of the Year. The 7-time NBA All-Star is exciting to watch, and we all hope that he will stay out of negative controversies so we can continue to watch him dominate on the court.
