Shanahan has been the head coach in San Francisco since 2017. Kyle Shanahan’s wife is Amanda “Mandy” O’Donnell, and the couple have three children, Stella, Carter and Lexi. In 2019, Kyle led the 49ers to become National Football Conference champions, and to the Super Bowl, where they were defeated by the Kansas City Chiefs.

The San Francisco 49ers have been one of the more pleasant surprises of the 2019 NFL season, especially coming off of such a disappointing 2018 campaign.

They finished the 2018 season with a 4 and 12 record, despite coming into the year with high expectations thanks to a young, brilliant offensive mind at head coach, in Kyle Shanahan, and a freshly signed “franchise quarterback,” in Jimmy Garoppolo.

The 49ers clearly failed to live up to their lofty expectations, as many experts around the league were picking them as a dark horse to make a playoff run. But the fact of the matter is they did have a ton of injuries, including a season-ender to Jimmy G in week 3.

Anyways… As disappointing as that 2018 season was, the team out in Northern California really changed the narrative surrounding their program in 2019, finishing the year with a 13 and 3 record and securing home field throughout the playoffs.
