Keenan Allen was born on April 27, 1992, in Greensboro, North Carolina, and attended Northern Guilford High School before attending college at the University of California, Berkeley.
Allen was a standout player in college and was selected by the Chargers in the third round of the 2013 NFL Draft. He initially struggled to get playing time in his rookie season but eventually became the team’s leading receiver and was named the 2013 NFL Rookie of the Year by Sporting News.
Allen continued to perform well in subsequent seasons but was hampered by injuries, including a kidney injury in 2015 and an ACL tear in 2016.
