Josh Norman played college football for Coastal Carolina before entering the 2012 NFL Draft. He was selected 143rd overall by the Carolina Panthers and was only the third player to be drafted from Coastal Carolina. He was a starting cornerback in his rookie season, but began to struggle at the position and was surpassed on the depth chart. In 2013, he was once again demoted to the fifth cornerback on the depth chart.
In 2015, he stepped his game up and opposing quarterbacks had a passer rating of only 54.0 when throwing against Norman, which was the lowest of all NFL cornerbacks. He went to the Washington Redskins as an unrestricted free agent for 2016-2019. In 2021, he signed with the 49ers, and in 2022 he went back to the Panthers and played in their final two games of the season.
