Johnny Manziel redshirted for the Texas A&M Aggies and became the first freshman to win the Heisman Trophy, the Manning Award, and the Davey O’Brien National Quarterback Award. He was selected 22nd overall by the Browns in the 2014 NFL Draft, but struggled with off-field controversies and was released by the Browns after the 2015 season. He returned to football two years later in the Canadian League but was released the following year and rendered ineligible to play after it was determined that he violated the terms of his contract.
