Joey Bosa played college football at Ohio State before being selected third overall by the San Diego Chargers in the 2016 NFL Draft. Despite missing the first four weeks of the season due to a hamstring injury, Bosa was named the NFL’s Defensive Rookie of the Year.
In 2020, he signed a five-year, $135 million contract extension with the Chargers, making him the highest-paid defensive player in the league. Joey Bosa is the brother of NFL player Nick Bosa who was drafted with the second overall pick in 2019 by the 49ers.
In the 2021 season, Bosa had an impressive performance with a career-high of 7 forced fumbles and 5 solo tackles in a game against the Baltimore Ravens. He earned his fourth Pro Bowl selection but couldn’t play due to an undisclosed injury.
In the 2022 season, Bosa suffered a groin injury, underwent surgery, and was placed on injured reserve but later returned to play. Unfortunately, in the Wild Card Round, he received a penalty for removing his helmet in frustration, which contributed to the team’s loss against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
