Jim Harbaugh was born on December 23, 1963, in Toledo, Ohio, USA. He played college football at the University of Michigan, where he was a star quarterback and finished third in the Heisman Trophy voting in 1986.
After college, Harbaugh played 14 seasons in the NFL as a quarterback for various teams, including the Chicago Bears, Indianapolis Colts, and San Francisco 49ers. He earned Pro Bowl honors in 1995 and was named the AFC Offensive Player of the Year in 1995 and 1996.
Following his playing career, Harbaugh transitioned to coaching, first as an assistant coach at various colleges, including the University of San Diego and Stanford University.
