Jaylon Smith was born on June 14, 1995, in Fort Wayne, Indiana, and attended Bishop Luers High School before playing college football at the University of Notre Dame. During his time at Notre Dame, he was a consensus All-American and won the Butkus Award as the nation’s top collegiate linebacker. He was selected by the Dallas Cowboys in the second round of the 2016 NFL Draft, but did not play his rookie season due to a serious knee injury suffered in his final college game.
Since then, Smith has become one of the top linebackers in the NFL, known for his speed, athleticism, and ability to make big plays. He was named a Pro Bowler in 2019 and has been a key contributor to the Cowboys’ defense.
In October 2021, Jaylon Smith signed with the Green Bay Packers but was released after appearing in two games. In December 2021, he signed with the New York Giants’ practice squad and was later activated to the active roster. In September 2022, he re-signed with the Giants’ practice squad and was promoted to the active roster on October 1, 2022.
