Ime Udoka is a professional basketball coach who most notably coached the Celtics until he was suspended for the 2022-23 season. Udoka played in the NBA for a few seasons before he became an assistant coach for the San Antonio Spurs in 2012. He won his first championship with the Spurs in the 2014 NBA Finals. Udoka was hired as an assistant coach of the Philadelphia 76ers for the 2019-20 season and was hired again by the Brooklyn Nets as an assistant coach in 2020. In 2021, he was hired as the head coach of the Boston Celtics, becoming the fifth head coach of African origin in Boston Celtics history. He helped them win an Eastern Conference Title and brought them to their first NBA Finals since 2010, where they ultimately lost to the Golden State Warriors.
