DeSean Jackson played college football at the University of California from 2005–2007 where he earned first-team All-American twice and first-team All-Pac-10 twice. He entered the 2008 NFL Draft and was drafted 49th overall by the Philadelphia Eagles. He had a few successful seasons with the Eagles but was frustrated about how the Eagles were unwilling to negotiate a contract extension with him. He failed to report to their mandatory training camp in 2011 and had multiple fines against him that year. He re-signed his contract with the Eagles in 2012 and was released in 2014 after his third Pro Bowl selection.
Jackson signed with the Redskins in 2014, Tampa Bay in 2017, Philadelphia again in 2019, and the Rams in 2021. He was released by the Rams upon request on November 2nd, but was still awarded his first Super Bowl ring, as they won the Super Bowl that year. He signed with the Raiders that same season and the Ravens in 2022.
Jackson was in the news in 2020 for posting antisemitic quotes to his Instagram and anti-COVID-19 vaccine propaganda.
