This World Cup was expected to offer a different fan experience than previous tournaments thanks to the extra-strict rules in the country of Qatar.
That being said, it’s probably never a good idea to go topless in any stadium, as such actions will probably get you fined and possibly even arrested in most countries around the world.
During Sunday’s World Cup Final between Argentina and France, one Argentine female was spotted by the television cameras celebrating her country’s victory from the stands. Viewers who were paying extra close attention were quick to notice that the woman was actually topless.
It’s a risky move for a woman in an Arab country, and based on the latest reports, there’s a chance she could pay dearly for her poor choices.
According to sources, the woman was eventually escorted from the stadium and could be facing jail time.
Prior to the start of the tournament, the Qatar Tourism Authority issued the following warning to visitors:

‘Visitors (men as well as women) are expected to show respect for local culture by avoiding excessively revealing clothing in public.
‘It is generally recommended for men and women to ensure their shoulders and knees are covered.’
While non-Qatari women do not have to wear an abaya—which is a long, black robe that covers pretty much the entire body from head to toe—they are expected to cover up their shoulders, cleavage and legs above their knees.
Of course, this topless Argentine fan isn’t the first to push those rules to their boundaries. Croatian superfan Ivana Knoll had been posting many photos of her racy outfits from Qatar throughout the World Cup.
However, Ivana was at least smart enough to keep her top on—and keep herself out of jail. The topless Argentine may not be so lucky.
