The world is still reeling over the shocking passing of Grant Wahl while he was covering the World Cup, and his brother made things worse by insinuating that he may have been killed after he was briefly detained weeks ago for wearing a rainbow on his shirt.
He was also very outspoken about the deaths of workers who helped build the stadium in Qatar and how the people there simply did not care that it happened.
In his own words, Wahl stated how sick he had become and how other reporters were also feeling ill. He even called his cough a ‘death rattle’ mere hours before he would actually collapse at the stadium and die en route to the hospital.
Now, we have yet another journalist who has died in Qatar.
Via Fox Sports:
“A second journalist has died while covering the FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
The Gulf Times reports Qatari photojournalist Khalid al-Misslam passed away “suddenly” on the weekend.
The Qatar news outlet wrote: “Al- Misslam, a Qatari, died suddenly while covering the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022. We believe in Allah’s mercy and forgiveness for him, and send our deepest condolences to his family.”

Al-Misslam worked for the Qatari news channel Al Kass TV and had been covering the World Cup. The circumstances around his death are unclear, with the TV channel only briefly mentioning his passing on their live broadcast.”
His death was made on the same day that a security guard was seriously injured when he fell at Lusail Iconic Stadium, the Guardian reported. The guard after the quarter-final game between Argentina and the Netherlands.
One fan told the UK news outlet that the guard fell from a “significant height” at the stadium and was rushed to Hamad hospital.
We can only hope and pray that no more deaths occur at the World Cup.
