Alex Morgan is disappointed she didn’t make the 2024 Olympics soccer team, but there may be many others who are even more hurt by the news.
Late last month, the official Olympic roster for Team USA’s women’s national team was announced. Although she competed in the 2012 London Olympics, 2016 Rio Olympics, and 2020 Tokyo Olympics, the 35-year-old was missing from this year’s roster.
Unfortunately for a company like Reese’s Pieces, they had already filmed a commercial prior in hopes that everybody involved would be on the Olympic team.
As part of its official sponsorship of Team USA, The Hershey Company dropped a limited-edition Reese’s in the shape of a medal.
Reese’s tapped two Olympic and Paralympic legends and two up-and-comers for its Paris 2024 ad campaign.
Alex Morgan is in that commercial, but she won’t even be in Paris.

Aside from Morgan, Sophia Smith, a forward on Portland Thorns FC and Morgan’s teammate on the national team, also made up the Olympic duo for the brand.
Jessica Long, a Paralympic swimmer with 29 medals, and Haven Shepherd, a Paralympic swimmer, are the Paralympic duo.
Morgan and Haven Shepherd did not make their respective squads. It was quite the double-whammy for Reeses Pieces and their new commercial.
The roster is made up of goalkeepers Casey Murphy and Alyssa Naeher; defenders Tierna Davidson, Emily Fox, Naomi Girma, Casey Krueger, Jenna Nighswonger and Emily Sonnett; midfielders Korbin Albert, Sam Coffey, Lindsey Horan, Rose Lavelle and Catarina Macario; and forwards Crystal Dunn, Trinity Rodman, Jaedyn Shaw, Sophia Smith and Mallory Swanson, per CNN Sports.

Alex Morgan Responds To Not Making The 2024 Olympics Team
USWNT legend Alex Morgan found herself once again being overlooked for a spot on the roster as the team gears up for the Olympic games in Paris.
She took the disappointment in stride as she responded to it on social media:
“Today, I’m disappointed about not having the opportunity to represent our country on the Olympic stage,” Morgan wrote via X at the time. “In less than a month, I look forward to supporting this team and cheering them on alongside the rest of our country. LFG.”
