The United States Women’s National Team was already being ripped for their play that resulted in a 0-0 draw to Portugal this week, but now they are getting a huge voice going against them.
One of the loudest critics is conservative political commentator Megyn Kelly.
Megyn Kelly called the team “morons” during the latest episode of The Megyn Kelly Show on SiriusXM radio this week.
“These morons on the women’s soccer team continue to embarrass us on the national stage,” Kelly said on her show according to The Daily Mail.
Star players like Alex Morgan and Megan Rapinoe were seen dancing and smiling after the game and that also upset Kelly.
“Megan Rapinoe, she’s the leader of all this,” Kelly said on her SiriusXM podcast “The Megyn Kelly Show.”
Rapinoe has been coming off the bench as a sub during the current tournament. The 38-year-old has generated controversy for past statements in support of Black Lives Matter, kneeling during the Anthem, and being in favor of allowing transgender people to compete alongside those who are not of the same biological sex.

Here’s more of what she said, via the New York Post:
“She’s not a starter. So that’s why she’s not on camera when they’re doing the national anthem, but she’s behind a lot of this.
“She’s poisoned the entire team against the country for which they play,” Kelly said.
“I don’t know about you, but I’m not rooting for them. I’m not with them. I hope they lose … It’s shameful.”
“They’re making fools of themselves,” Kelly said.
“They won’t sing the national anthem, half of them won’t put their hands over their hearts, even the ones who are singing are half-assing it,” Kelly said.
“They clearly don’t want to be doing it. I mean, they look like they don’t even want to be there.”
Kelly added: “It’s like some sort of inconvenience to be representing the USA.”
The two-time defending champs have generated more controversy than goals and that is just not making very many people happy about this current team. The US only advanced after a shot by a Portuguese forward hit the post in the dying seconds of the match.
The US will face Sweden, one of the tournament’s strongest teams, in the knockout round at 5 a.m. Eastern time Sunday.
They will need to shut out the noise and be on their A-game if they want to advance.
