A soccer player suffered one of the most gruesome injuries ever during a Copa Libertadores match between Brazilian side Fluminense and Argentinian outfit Argentinos Juniors on Tuesday.
Juniors defender Luciano Sanchez sustained a full dislocation of his left knee after a tackle from former Real Madrid star Marcelo, who was sent off for the challenge.
Marcelo was visibly distraught and was in tears while walking off the pitch, with Sanchez screaming in pain after the accidental collision.
It was believed that the defender had broken his leg but it’s since been reported as a full dislocation.
You could check it out in the video below but we warn you, this one is not for the squeamish.
Doctors are reported to have estimated that Luciano’s recovery time should be between eight and 12 months.

Marcelo also took to social media to apologize for his involvement.
“I lived a very tough moment on the pitch today,” the Brazilian wrote on Twitter. “With no intention I injured a fellow footballer. I want to wish you the best possible recovery, Luciano Sánchez.”
Argentinos have thanked the Brazilian club for their concern.
“We are rivals, not enemies,” they noted.
