Lionel Messi’s wife had to give way to the Argentina star’s newest love following his latest accomplishment. Messi, 35, won the World Cup with his country this past Sunday and would not have had another opportunity to win the elusive prize as the next tournament is four years away.
Of course, he could still be fit and raring to go in 2026. Players such as Thiago Silva, Pepe, and Dani Alves all played for their countries during the 2022 World Cup – so Messi playing at 39 is still a possibility, should he change his mind and decide to have another go. Who knows?
Anyhow, the diminutive attacker only had space for one more in his bed after winning on Sunday, and it wasn’t for his wife Antonela.
The World Cup champ opted to take his trophy to bed with him instead.
