Lionel Messi is officially a member of Major League Soccer’s Inter Miami.
The man who many believe to be the greatest soccer player of all-time made the shocking move to join the North American league after his time with European powerhouse Paris Saint Germain came to an end. And while some were still skeptical after the announcement was made earlier this summer, the two sides made things official on Saturday, when Messi put pen to paper, signing his contract that’s expected to pay him up to $60-million per season — and also includes a massive signing bonus and equity in the team.
After signing the deal, it was time to introduce Messi to America. And Miami did it like only they could — in front of a sold out crowd at DRV PNK Stadium, where he was introduced to fans by none other than David Beckham.
The show, which was delayed for nearly two hours by a storm, also featured a video with high-profile celebrities like Steph Curry, Tom Brady and DJ Khaled welcoming the Argentine superstar to the United States.
But even among all the A-list celebs, there was one person who really stole the show… That would be Lionel Messi’s wife, Antonela Roccuzzo, who showed up to the event in some appropriately-colored hot-pink pants.

Inter Miami currently sits in last place in MLS. Their next game is this Friday, in a Leagues Cup group stage battle against Cruz Azul.
No word yet on when Messi is expected to make his first appearance with the team, but you can bet that once it happens, it won’t be long before Inter Miami emerges from the basement of Major League Soccer.
