Lionel Messi found a hilarious way to make headlines around the internet following Argentina’s win over France in the 2022 FIFA World Cup finals.
After Argentina’s thrilling victory, cameras showed celebrity chef Salt Bae going over in an attempt to speak with Messi. But the 35-year-old Messi didn’t seem all that keen on speaking to Bae, having instead chosen to give him the cold shoulder.
At the very end of the clip, you can see Bae still trying to speak to Messi:

Messi, playing in his second World Cup final, tuned in a performance that will be talked about for years to come. He scored Argentina’s first and third goals in the contest, and he converted on the team’s first penalty kick.
Argentina led 2-0 in the 79th minute, but Kylian Mbappé rallied the French by scoring two quick goals to force extra time. Messi scored again in the 107th minute, but Mbappé tied it up on a penalty kick in the 117th minute.

But Argentina ultimately prevailed 4-2 on penalty kicks to win the nation its first World Cup since 1986. France fell just short of becoming the first country to win back-to-back World Cups since Brazil, who accomplished the feat in 1958 and 1962.
Messi and Argentina came awfully close to winning it all in 2014, but they lost 1-0 to Germany in extra time in a heartbreaker. At the 2018 World Cup, Argentina lost 4-3 to France, the eventual champion, in the round of 16.
All that was left in an otherwise flawless career was to eventually bring the World Cup back to Argentina, and Messi did just that on Sunday.
