Lionel Messi is the biggest star in Soccer today, and a lot of people would love to meet him, but maybe don’t do this on the field.
Messi, star of Inter Miami, took the field against the LAFC for Major League Soccer when a fan ran on field to try and touch the star. As the fan got closer to Messi, his private bodyguard bolted on the field to intercept the man and helped security escort him out.
The guard, a former Navy SEAL and MMA fighter, showed a lot of restraint to the fan, which seems odd as he touched the soccer star, but the incident highlights that fans shouldn’t run on the field to meet their favorites and heroes. Much respect to his guard who handled the situation, but the fan should be thankful he didn’t hurt him.
Messi has drawn a lot of attention since signing with Inter Miami. Games and arenas are being sold out as he gives the U.S. a major boost in soccer as fans and celebrities flock to stadiums to watch him play.
