There was a scary situation toward the end of the Mexico vs. Qatar match at Levi’s Stadium — home of the San Francisco 49ers — on Sunday.
Police in Santa Clara had been searching for a suspect and a person of interest in a stabbing at Levi’s Stadium during a Gold Cup soccer match. A man suffered a stab wound to the upper collarbone area, according to Lt. Cuong Phan of the Santa Clara Police Department.
Footage has since come out on that incident.
A suspect has been arrested and identified as 29-year-old Alejandro Garcia-Villanueva who was taken without incident at his residence on July 4, Santa Clara PD said. Evidence was found at Garcia-Villanueva’s residence by Santa Clara police, who issued a search warrant.
Santa Clara police said that he was booked into the Santa Clara Main Jail and is facing an attempted murder charge.

Emmanuel Díaz Leal, who was the man who got stabbed, is grateful to be alive. He told the news his attacker missed his heart and neck just by a few inches and that he could’ve died.
Díaz Leal said he was enjoying the match with friends and family when the fight began and he had no clue that someone had a weapon.
Díaz Leal is in stable condition and is expected to make a full recovery. He is not able to eat or drink due to his injuries.
