TV host Diletta Leotta, who works for DAZN in Italy, talked about how she overcame sexist abuse early in her career by earning a law degree. Leotta, a renowned TV presenter for DAZN in Italy and partner of soccer star Loris Karius, highlighted the sexist abuse she has faced throughout her career.
She disclosed to F Magazine in an interview the scathing criticism she received right away. “The worst thing was: ‘You’re only here because of your tits.’ A colleague from Sky Sport told me how people were talking about me.”
The 32-year-old reporter, who is engaged to Newcastle goalkeeper Loris Karius, admitted the vitriol ‘hurt like crazy.’
‘I had just arrived, I was twenty years old: it hurt like crazy. At home that evening, I let out a liberating cry. That brought out the lion in me, I learned a lot.
‘I got my degree [in law] so that no one could ever say something like that to me again.’
Diletta Leotta persisted in discussing her unpleasant broadcasting experiences and asserted that women lack empathy and understanding of one another.
‘The problem is female competition,’ she alleged, which rears its head when ‘we sit in positions that are normally occupied by men, like in football.’

Even if her peers’ negative remarks have decreased since she was younger, the DAZN host and model continue to face backlash.
Paola Ferrari, a prominent Italian journalist, and broadcaster, attacked Leotta’s outfit earlier this month, saying that “ennobling the nude” was a step backward for women in the business.
‘She is very good and brings in advertising revenue.’ Ferrari told Corriere della Sera. ‘But if you ask me if I would like my daughter Virginia to be like her, then I answer no.
‘Today it is fashionable to claim your freedom by showing yourself without clothes: Mary Quant’s time has passed. Ennobling the nude with feminism seems petty to me: once we didn’t want to appear beautiful but good, now they want to be beautiful first of all, it’s a step backward.’
Diletta Leotta Urged Loris Karius to Depart Newcastle Amid Long-Distance Struggles of Relationship
Loris Karius is believed to have met Diletta in Paris. They began dating in 2022 and welcomed their baby daughter, Aria, in August 2023.
Karius – formerly of Liverpool – has been at Newcastle since 2022 but looks set to leave in the summer.
Diletta – who he proposed to in February – recently expressed her plea to Loris Karius to leave, citing the inconvenience of the geographical separation caused by his tenure at Newcastle, where direct flights to Milan or Paris are unavailable.
Although Karius plays for Newcastle as part of his English obligations, he has primarily been a substitute player since the Magpies signed him on a free transfer in September 2022.
On the other hand, Leotta—a well-known host for DAZN—works primarily out of Italy, which makes staying close even more difficult.
