The France World Cup squad has been hit by a viral outbreak, yet it’s Lionel Messi and Argentina who should be worried going into Sunday’s final as Drake has picked La Albiceleste to lift the coveted trophy when the dust settles.
The final will present Messi his last opportunity to win the World Cup, with the Paris Saint-Germain attacker leaving with a silver medal after losing 1-0 to Germany in 2014’s final. He won’t be best pleased to learn that Drake has picked his country to beat France, although it’s exactly what he wants.
The former Barcelona superstar has dazzled at the World Cup in 2022, albeit getting off to a tepid start. He is likely to be instrumental for Argentina yet again, but folks must be changing their minds about him after a video of Drake betting on the South American country surfaced online on Saturday.
The Canadian rapper has a reputation for always picking the losers in big matches and teams even tend to have bad luck when he wears their merch.
“I’ll take Argentina, he’ll take France,” the rapper is heard saying in the video below.

Twitter has, of course, offered some funny reactions.
The Drake curse, as it’s now known, extended to MMA at UFC 281 last month when he bet $1.5 million on Israel Adesanya to beat Alex Pereira. A win would have made the “Her Loss” artiste $2.5 million but Adesanya would shockingly lose in the fifth round.
Messi is one of the best soccer players in the world and is considered to be the greatest ever by many fans. But even he might have a hard time escaping the Drake curse.
