With Cristiano Ronaldo officially gone from Manchester United, everyone is left wondering exactly where the world’s most popular soccer player will end up next.
Wherever that may be, CR7’s new team may have to wait a few games before they can actually deploy their new weapon.
Earlier today, it was announced that Cristiano Ronaldo would be suspended for two games and fined £50,000 for smashing a fan’s phone during an incident at Goodison Park back in April following a 1-0 loss to Everton.
Video of the incident shows Ronaldo hobbling to the locker room when he spots a fan recording him. Clearly agitated, he slaps down on the fan’s hand, causing his phone to smash on the ground.
England’s FA did a thorough investigation into the matter before announcing their final decision today. In addition to the Football Association’s investigation, Ronaldo was also being investigated by the police at the time, but he was cleared of any wrongdoing after apologizing and paying to replace the phone.

Ronaldo also offered to have the fan at a Manchester United game. At the time, he claimed he was concerned for his safety when he smashed the phone, but it’s clear that no one was buying that excuse.
Cristiano Ronaldo is currently in Qatar, as his Portuguese national team gets ready for their World Cup opener against Ghana on Thursday. On top of his somewhat hostile departure from Manchester United, this suspension is yet another distraction that Portugal must now overcome in their quest to take home their first ever World Cup.
