The No. 7-seeded LSU soccer team was defeated by No. 10-seed Ole Miss in a penalty shootout in the first round by a score of 3-0 at the Ashton Brosnaham Soccer Complex on Sunday, but that result became a footnote to what happened earlier in the game.
Violence ruined the SEC Soccer Tournament match between LSU and Ole Miss.
Ole Miss player Ramsey Davis, along with LSU’s Maya Gordon and Rammie Noel, were given red cards and ejected from the match for fighting.
It started with Davis and Gordon being entangled and exchanging punches. After the two were separated, Noel then pursued Davis and attacked her.
The three ejected players will be suspended for at least one game, and for LSU, that means the NCAA Tournament.
