U.S. soccer star Ali Krieger is defending her teammate Megan Rapinoe after President Trump took to Twitter on Wednesday and blasted her for stating she wasn’t going to the White House if the team won it all.
Krieger tweeted that, like Rapinoe, she will also turn down an invitation to the White House if the U.S. women’s national team wins the World Cup.
“In regards to the “President’s” tweet today, I know women who you cannot control or grope anger you, but I stand by @mPinoe & will sit this one out as well,” Krieger, who is currently competing for the World Cup, tweeted.
“I don’t support this administration nor their fight against LGBTQ+ citizens, immigrants & our most vulnerable,” she added.

“We haven’t yet invited Megan or the team, but I am now inviting the TEAM, win or lose,” he tweeted.
Rapinoe, the team’s co-captain, had been kneeling during the National Anthem until the team created a rule that forced players to stand. She has since began keeping her hands behind her back during the Anthem.
