Alex Morgan is getting slammed for what’s considered to be embarrassing behavior following a recent draw.
The U.S. Women’s National Team is headed out of the knockout rounds of the 2023 Women’s World Cup, yet they don’t look to be as imposing as fans expected them to be going into the tournament.
The defending champions ran out to a 3-0 win over Vietnam, as expected. But they are yet to win since then, drawing 1-1 against Holland and needing a result on Tuesday morning against Portugal to move on to the next round.
That, they got with a goalless draw, much to the disappointment of fans and analysts.
Progression is progression, though. And the result was good enough for some of the players, including Morgan, to celebrate and sign autographs. Morgan, Megan Rapinoe, and Crystal Dunn were shown on camera dancing after the final whistle, drawing criticism from all around.
Rob Stone and Carli Llyod of Fox Sports were not at all pleased after seeing the postgame interactions.

“I have never witnessed something like that,” Lloyd said. “There’s a difference between being respectful of the fans and saying hello to your family, but to be dancing, to be smiling…you’re lucky to not be going home right now.”
