American gymnast Simone Biles is coming off a sensational performance at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris, France, winning three gold medals and one silver.
However, she likely prompted some concern after she was spotted in a walking boot after her final performance on Monday.
The 27-year-old, now the most decorated American gymnast of all time, has explained why she was wearing the foot fixture. Thankfully, it’s not because she’s badly injured,
During an interview with Hoda Kotb on ‘TODAY,’ Biles said the boot was precautionary as she is healing from a minor injury.
“We’re resting up as much as possible,” she revealed. “We have tour in a couple weeks. So, I’m just going to rest and heal.”
The Ohio native will join other American gymnasts for the “Gold Over America Tour” which will be hosted in 30 arenas across the country this fall.

Biles was wearing a boot on her left foot when she spoke to NBC’s Mike Tirico after she won silver in the Women’s Floor event on Monday. Her explanation was pretty much the same then.
“Calf is good,” she remarked. “It’s just precautionary, making sure, because we still have tour after this to heal up and all of that stuff. So, just a little bit of soreness.”
Simone Biles Took Fans Through Her Tumble In A Recent Interview
The American took a fall during her warmups and had to retape her calf on her last floor routine.
“I feel like elite athletes are pretty tough, so we’re just, through pain or pleasure, we’re ready for whatever,” she told Tirico while the fall was shown on screen. “So mainly, what you’re seeing here is, I was just trying to over rotate for good measure, and I did just that and almost knocked (coach) Laurent (Landi) on out. But it was good.”
Fans across the United States will now look forward to seeing the 11-time Olympic medalist following her sensational exploits at the games. It doesn’t appear that her calf will be holding her back.
