Olympic track and field star Fred Kerley is not having the best start to 2025.
He was arrested in Florida late Thursday after a confrontation with police.
The American Olympic sprint star was reportedly tasered before being arrested and charged with battery on a police officer.
The 29-year-old approached a police investigation scene late Thursday night, asking about his parked vehicle. Fred Kerley reportedly became increasingly aggressive and would not move on when the officers asked him to.
Police allege that Kerley “attempted to force his way through” two officers despite their requests that he go around the area.
One cop was said to have raised his left hand and made contact with Kerley, who brushed it away.
Kerley, who starred in both seasons of Netflix’s athletics docuseries’ Sprint,’ allegedly got into a ‘fighting stance.’ He would then resist arrest and had to be tasered.

Police stated the reigning Olympic bronze medalist in the men’s 100-meter dash exchanged words with the group of officers before being struck and wrestled to the ground.
Fred Kerley has been charged with battery, resisting an officer, and disorderly conduct and was booked into jail early Friday morning.

Olympic sprinter Fred Kerley was arrested in Miami Beach after a “confrontation with police officers.”
Officers were actively investigating the area when Kerley approached their scene and inquired about his parked car.
Miami Beach police said his demeanor became “increasingly aggressive,” and he was asked to leave the area, but he refused.
In the ensuing altercation, police wrote in their report that one cop “delivered multiple hammer fists” towards Fred Kerley’s head and elbows to his back in continued attempts to subdue him.
