Team USA coach Steve Kerr is facing tough decisions in selecting his starting lineup for the Paris Olympic games among 12 NBA stars. Despite coming into the team after winning the NBA championship, Boston Celtics star Jayson Tatum did not make the starting lineup in their Olympic opener. Nevertheless, the Golden State Warriors star opted for Devin Booker in that game.
Kerr has received much criticism for his choices but remains confident in his decision to start Booker. The head coach recently revealed the reason behind picking Booker as the starter.
“He’s probably the guy who’s been most adaptable to go from a different role in the NBA to a new one here,” Kerr said.
“He’s such a big scorer in the league, but just like in Tokyo, he’s adapted to being an on-ball guy, ball mover. The offense clicks when he’s out there, and the defense is really good. That’s why he’s started every game and seems to be good with any combination,” Kerr added.
Devin Booker’s Efficiency Shines in Team USA’s Olympic Wins
