Team USA, often regarded as the most successful team in international competition, is dominating the exhibition games before the start of the Paris 2024 Olympics. The USA men’s basketball team has secured four straight wins in the friendly games and has shown everyone their true potential.
Team USA has a fantastic roster, including some of the best players from the NBA, such as LeBron James, Stephen Curry, and Kevin Durant. However, during a recent episode of ‘Getup on ESPN,’ an NBA insider named the best player on the USA lineup, and it is not James or Curry. Brian Windhorst of ESPN called the Los Angeles Lakers’ star player, Anthony Davis, the best player on the USA men’s basketball team.
“This Team, when they have been at their best, has looked very good. I can’t say enough how great Anthony Davis looks. Anthony Davis has been the best player on this team, an absolute beast on the defensive end. At the big man position where Team USA needs it.” Windhorst said during a recent appearance on Getup on ESPN.
Davis Shines Bright for Team USA After a Decade Away
Davis, who is playing for the American men’s basketball team after a 10-year gap, has been delivering outstanding performances. In the first pre-Olympic exhibition game against Team Canada, the 31-year-old power forward scored 10 points, grabbed 11 rebounds, and made two assists.
In the second exhibition game against the Australian men’s basketball team, Davis finished with 17 points, 14 rebounds, and one assist. However, during the third exhibition game against Team Serbia, the nine-time NBA All-Star scored only 7 points. In the intense narrow win against South Sudan in the 4th exhibition game, Davis scored 15 points, grabbed 11 rebounds, and made two assists.
The first 2024 Olympic game for Team USA is set for July 28th in Lille, France, against Team Serbia.
