An Australian reporter made unfounded claims of doping/steroid use against U.S. sprinter Sha’Carri Richardson and the late Flo Jo and she is paying for it dearly.
Claire Lehmann — founder of Quillette, and contributor to the Australian — went super viral a few days ago for her controversial tweets aimed at Richardson, whom she suggested was using PEDs because of what she perceived as “strong nails & hair.”
She wrote, “Not sure whether the nails are real or fake, but in case you didn’t know very strong nails & hair can be a side effect of steroid use.”
She then brought the late Flo Jo into it:
Lehmann wrote, “Flo Jo, obvious drug user, had the nails. She died in her sleep at age 38 because that’s what a lifetime of drug use does to the body (and why it’s supposed to be banned from elite sports).”

On fourth of July, her claims got her and the people closes to her attacked by a mob of people as she stated on Twitter.
“I’ve had my fair share of mobbings before, but none so extreme that when they realise they can’t hurt you they go after your family & friends, targeting their workplaces. All I can say is that what I’ve seen from this mob’s machinations…1/
Is that they are very practiced at what they do. They scour people’s social media followers, target friends, share LinkedIn profiles & go after family member’s employers like a swarm of bees. 2/
That they are practiced makes me think they must have had success multiple times before. A lot of people must be losing their jobs in the current climate over dumb social media comments. Possibly more than we realise /End.”
