Athletes at Tokyo’s Olympic village were reportedly given ‘anti-sex’ beds to discourage them from any contact that could spread coronavirus. The beds are reportedly made of cardboard and are apparently designed in a way to take the weight of one person, meaning they would break if anyone tried to share them.
Paul Chelimo shared pictures of the ‘anti-sex beds’ in a series of tweets, writing: “Beds to be installed in Tokyo Olympic Village will be made of cardboard, this is aimed at avoiding intimacy among athletes.
“Beds will be able to withstand the weight of a single person to avoid situations beyond sports. I see no problem for distance runners, even 4 of us can do…”
He went on to add: “At this point I will have to start practicing how to sleep on the floor; cause If my bed collapses and I have no training on sleeping on the floor i’m done.
“More added stress heading into Tokyo!”
It appears the bed has been debunked. Irish gymnast, Rhys McClenaghan, posted a video in response to reports the cardboard beds are meant to only have one person on it. In the video below, he can be seen getting on the bed and jumping up and down with all of his weight.

This year, Olympic officials insist that them giving out 160,000 condoms to the athletes is for athletes to bring home to spread the message of safe sex.
“Our intent and goal is not for athletes to use the condoms at the Olympic Village, but to help with awareness by taking them back to their own countries,” the Tokyo Olympics Organizing Committee said in a statement to Japan Today.
It should be known that Ryhs is 5 ft 7 in, but his weight is unknown. By looking at the video, he is very fit and seeing as how he is a gymnast, he might be well under 200 pounds.
We’re gonna need some more testing to be done by somebody with a little height and weight.
