McKayla Maroney is on the road to recovery after severe stomach pain put her in the emergency rook this past week.
The 25-year-old Olympic gold medalist posted a photo of herself in the hospital.
“Tuesday I was throwing up all day, with severe pain in my back and stomach,” Maroney wrote on the social media site.
“Had to come to ER at 3am because pain kept getting worse, and I couldn’t stop throwing up… Just got my CT scan back. I have a few kidney stones.”
Maroney updated that she is out of the ER now, but “unfortunately nothing has changed, still on pain management.”

‘Home from ER. They treated me wonderful, but unfortunately nothing has changed, just on pain management,’ she wrote.
‘This smoothie is literally the only thing I can even think of stomaching.’
Maroney was famously part of the “Fierce Five” team that dominated the 2012 London Olympics. She was also one of several US gymnasts who spoke up against Larry Nassar before he was convicted of sexual abuse in 2018.
