We have seen our fair share of women behaving so badly during the Paris Olympics and getting sent home, and now Luna Bulmahn has been added to the list.
The 24-year-old German sprinter was reportedly sent home from the Summer Games over drama involving her boyfriend, who is also competing in Paris.
German athletics is facing turmoil at the Olympics after Luna Bulmahn reacted angrily to being replaced by Alica Schmidt, who has been dubbed ‘the world’s sexiest athlete’ in the past.
The 24-year-old was upset she wasn’t picked to run in the mixed 4×400 relay over the weekend alongside her boyfriend, Jean-Paul Bredau.
In response to her anger, Luna Bulmahn has reportedly been removed from contention in the women’s 4×400 relay team, and she has promptly been sent home.
Bulmahn complained about the decision on Instagram, writing: ‘Yes, I am the second fastest 400-meter athlete on paper. No, I was not nominated for the mixed relay.’
“Soap opera style drama in Germany: Luna Bulmahn complained about not being selected for the mixed 4×4, her boyfriend Bredau stated he wasn’t able to run fast because his girlfriend wasn’t selected. And now Bulmahn is being sent home and Bredau is on probation over 400,” Bames Jond shared.

Alica Schmidt’s time this year for the 400 was 52.18, while Bulmahn’s time was 51.72.
In the end, it never mattered as the Germans were awful in the 4x400m mixed relay as they finished in seventh place and would not make it out of their heat.
Bild, a German tabloid newspaper, reported that the German Athletics Association stated in a press release, “The decision for the final cast of the squad, with Alica Schmidt, Jean-Paul Bredau, Manuel Sanders and Eileen Demes, was made unanimously by the DLV coach team with the leading national coach Julian Reus, Volker Beck, Jörg Möckel and Sven Buggel, the home coach of Alica Schmidt, Luna Bulmahn and Jean-Paul Bredau.”
Being Sent Home From The Olympics Is A Terrible Look For Luna Bulmahn Going Forward
Luna Bulmahn is only 24 years old, but her actions in Paris seriously jeopardized the rest of her career.
Getting sent home by the team over complaints of wanting to run alongside your boyfriend is a bad look and may play a factor in future events.
She handled the situation poorly, and now she won’t be able to compete in her first Olympics.
