McKayla Maroney is not a woman who spends a lot of time on social media. She is known for posting one month, then not doing it again for several more months.
Such was the case when the former Olympic gymnast took to Instagram for the first time since May to post herself rocking a “survivor” swimsuit that complimented her body very well.
One has to think the swimsuit is in reference to what Larry Nassar did to her and other gymnasts when they were younger.
In 2018, the Olympic gold medal gymnast said the former team doctor molested her on her very first visit to the famed Karolyi ranch — and then abused her hundreds of times over the next five years.
“He said that nobody would understand this and the sacrifice that it takes to get to the Olympics. So you can’t tell people this,” Maroney said.
“I actually was like, ‘That makes sense. I don’t want to tell anybody about this,'” she recalled. “I didn’t believe that they would understand.”
