Italy’s Angela Carini left her boxing match with trans athlete Imane Khelif in protest, and she has effectively gained the support of the world, including Riley Gaines.
Khelif, who was thrown out of last year’s world championships after failing gender eligibility tests, demolished female Italian rival Angela Carini in her first Olympics outing on Thursday after being cleared to compete at the Paris Games.
Angela Carini took two punches to the face and quite the bout just 46 seconds in.
Former Kentucky Wildcats swimmer Riley Gaines accused Olympic chiefs of ‘glorifying male violence against women’ amid the controversy surrounding Algerian boxer Imane Khelif’s gender.
A number of current and former athletes have blasted the decision to allow her to compete just over a year since tests at the world championships suggested he is indeed a biological male.
Gaines, the ex-college swimmer who had to race against transgender swimmer Lia Thomas, became the latest to hit out at Khelif’s inclusion at the Olympics.
Riley Gaines posted a picture of Angela Carini on her X account, formerly Twitter, and boldly stated, “Men don’t belong in women’s sports.”

In one of her many tweets, Riley Gaines also claimed that the IOC and the democratic party cared more about “A male getting his feelings hurt” over “a woman getting physically hurt.”
Since Gaines tweeted, the hashtag #IStandWithAngelaCarini has been trending for hours.
Riley Gaines Led Charge Against Lia Thomas And Transgenders Playing Against Biological Women
Former Kentucky swimmer Riley Gaines was among many who filed a lawsuit against the NCAA that accused it of violating their Title IX rights by allowing transgender woman Lia Thomas to compete at the national championships in 2022.
The lawsuit stated Gaines and others felt the shock of learning they would have to share a locker room with Thomas at the championships in Atlanta.
The lawsuit further stated the number of races they swam in with Thomas, which included the 200-yard final in which Thomas and Gaines tied for fifth.
