Singer Celine Dion is set to make some crazy bank from the Olympic Games this year.
The event will kick off in Paris, France, on Friday, with the organizers keen on spending top dollar to ensure they deliver the best product possible. The opening ceremony will be hosted on the Seine – boats will carry athletes from each nation along the river while fans watch along the banks.
The French-Canadian singer is scheduled to perform at the ceremony and, according to TMZ, is being paid $2 million for the appearance.
The Grammy Award winner won’t feature very long as the publication claims she’s only singing one song.
Dion’s performance should garner plenty of interest, as she hasn’t performed since 2019 due to a rare illness.
The disorder, which is called “Stiff-Person Syndrome,” has kept the 56-year-old off the stage for a long time, and, back in 2022, she revealed it could prevent her from walking or talking. She also shared footage of how it affects her in a recent documentary, prompting worries her career could be over.

Celine Dion’s Olympic Games Opening Performance Could Prove To Be Inspirational
Despite the above, the “Queen of Power Ballads” is planning to return to the stage this Friday, having taken significant measures to do so.
“I’ve chosen to work with all my body and soul, from head to toe, with a medical team,” she told Vogue France earlier this year. “I want to be the best I can be. My goal is to see the Eiffel Tower again!”
Should she manage to pull it off, her performance would be doubly inspirational. But she will also be paid handsomely for what could be considered a massive risk.
