Ahead of their final group stage match against Puerto Rico, let’s take a look at Team USA’s top 5 all-time scorers in the Olympic games.
Top Scorers of Team USA in the Olympics
5. Michael Jordan
Michael Jordan’s name often comes up when debate arises on the NBA’s GOAT title. So, how can he miss the list of top scorers for Team USA? During his impressive career, Jordan twice wore the American jersey and accumulated 256 points.
4. David Robinson
David Robinson, who won two NBA titles with the San Antonio Spurs, is also on the list. The former NBA star scored 273 points for Team USA during his three Olympic appearances.
3. Carmelo Anthony
Carmelo Anthony has already wrapped up his NBA career, but his position in the Olympic top scorer list is still dazzling. After Durant, Anthony is the second-top scorer for the United States with 336 points, which he accumulated during his appearance in four Olympic games.
2. LeBron James
LeBron James joins Kevin Durant and Carmelo Anthony as the only Team USA players to score more than 300 Olympic points after the USA’s dominant win over South Sudan. James scored 12 points. 1. Kevin Durant
Kevin Durant missed all of USA’s exhibition games due to a calf injury. Despite missing the preparation games, Durant quickly made up for his absence with standout performances in the games against Serbia and South Sudan. He is now Team USA’s all-time leading scorer in men’s basketball, with 460 points. Additionally, Durant is the only player on the current USA roster with three Olympic gold medals.
