The USA men’s basketball team is set for another challenge at the Paris Olympics after comfortably overcoming the Serbian threat in their opening encounter. Team USA will now face South Sudan in their Group C clash on Wednesday, July 31, at Pierre Mauroy Stadium in Lille, France.
Both teams are coming into this game with wins in their previous encounters. While Team USA registered a 110-84 win against Serbia, South Sudan made history with its first Olympics win against Team Puerto Rico.
Team USA, while boasting a star-studded roster, will need to be at their best to avoid any upsets. Notably, South Sudan pushed LeBron James and Co. to the brink in their recent meeting in the exhibition game.
Jayson Tatum, who was benched by coach Steve Kerr in the game against Serbia, will play in the second game. Veterans Kevin Durant and LeBron James will be once again the key players for the 16-time Olympic champions.
