Team USA has proven significant potential by winning five consecutive pre-Olympic exhibition games over other teams. Fans of American basketball are eager to see the men’s national team compete at the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris. The first game of Team USA is scheduled for July 28 against Serbia in Lille, France.
However, ahead of the first game, Team USA’s star player fell sick and was unable to participate in the practice session. According to NBA insider Brian Windhorst of ESPN, Joel Embiid couldn’t practice due to illness. However, Team USA coach Steve Kerr believes the entire roster will play in the Olympic opener against Serbia tomorrow.
“Joel Embiid misses practice with illness but Team USA coach Steve Kerr hopeful he’ll have entire team for Olympic opener against Serbia tomorrow. Including Kevin Durant, who practiced for third straight day.” Windhorst wrote in his latest reports.
Playing against the three-time NBA MVP Nikola Jokic, Team USA will need a fully fit roster. In addition to Embiid, Anthony Davis was also affected by the illness and missed few practice sessions.

“Hopefully [he’ll play], He came through the scrimmage two days ago pretty well, and we’ll have another practice today and we’ll just keep taking it day by day.” Kerr said to ESPN.
