There have been a ton of things that have happened at the end of the first week of the Tokyo Olympic Games, but nothing will top the below story.
Australian Olympian Jess Fox got a little creative when she needed to fix her kayak with an Olympics-issued condom before going on to win a bronze medal in her event.
“Bet you never knew condoms could be used for kayak repairs,” the 27-year-old wrote in a video showing the repair on Instagram.
Fox used the condom to hold in place a carbon mixture applied to the tip of the vessel.
“Very stretchy, much strong,” reads the post, adding “it gives the carbon a smooth finish!”

After winning three Olympic medals and none of them gold, the three-time Olympian wouldn’t be denied in her next event as finished 3.64 seconds clear of Britain’s Mallory Franklin with Germany’s reigning world champion Andrea Herzog taking bronze.
She was one of just eight paddlers to do the C1-K1 double, with only one other qualifying for the final.
Fox said making history as the first Olympic gold medalist in the event was very special to her.
