Concerns have been raised over the past year or so with regards to how the Olympic Games in Tokyo can be made as Covid-safe as possible.
Organizers want athletes to not only be socially distanced from other people, they want them to be the same way in their bed. Tokyo have created so-called ‘anti-sex’ beds.
The cardboard structures have been installed in athletes’ dorms at the Olympic village and it’s hoped it will help stem the tide of Covid in Japan.
The beds will reportedly collapse if competitors attempt to put anybody on their bed with them. It will make it clear who has been obeying the rules and who hasn’t.
According to reports, athletes will also not be allowed to buy alcohol and bring it into the village with them, while family are also banned from the site. And any rule breakages could be punishable with disqualification from the games.

Despite the prohibitions on physical contact, athletes will receive condoms since human beings have a way of finding a way around rules to get what they want. In accordance with Japan Today, Japanese condom manufacturers will supply competitors with a total of 160,000 condoms.
In a statement, the Tokyo Games said, “Our perspective is that we have to make it absolutely a safe Games because they will come to Japan to compete, and we want to make sure the process is not too impactful for them performing.”
