It’s been almost eight years since Lolo Jones came out and stated that she was a virgin and saving herself for marriage, but she ponders if she should’ve kept that information to herself.
Jones was a guest on the latest episode of comedian Kevin Hart’s “Cold as Balls” show, and the topic of her virginity came up.
The 37-year-old Olympic track and field star stated opening up about her virginity was a mistake and it killed her dating life.
“That was a mistake. That killed all my dates after that,” Jones said. “Before at least I had a chance. Before I’d tiptoe and be like, ‘OK, when’s a good time to tell him? Do I wait until he sees my personality a little bit, or do I just drop the bomb?’”
Hart then asked if her celibacy has helped her during her career.
“I have a higher level of intensity because I don’t have any pressure release,” Jones joked. “Everybody knows me as a stressed out person.”
She also added that she has been running at a “disadvantage” because having sex increases a woman’s testosterone level.
