Recently, Canadian ice hockey player Evander Kane of the Edmonton Oilers took to social media to expose a racist cyclist who spat on his car as he drove by.
“This cyclist was riding his bike past my vehicle and decided to spit on it as he rode by. And then confronted him as he tried to deny the claim luckily a friend in the area, pulled over to intervene in our conversation, this gentleman then proceeded to tell me in my friend and I quote “you people don’t belong here” it’s incredibly disappointing,” Kane wrote on an Instagram story. “There are still people like this today.”
The incident took place in Alberta, Edmonton, the home province of the Oilers. Many online have complimented Kane for handling the situation so well.
“Mr. Kane showed incredible restraint!!! What an awesome person to attempt to have a civil conversation with a KKK bigot,” one comment said.
“I am so sorry you have to have this happen to you, but sadly this is not a new occurrence. There are also people in Alberta like me who will stand up with you!” another said.

“The guy wanted Kane to do something so he could sue him for excessive use of force thankfully Kane is smarter than that . I hope that cyclists loser gets fired from his job if he is not already retired,” continued a third.
It’s a situation that is still very surprising to see in the year 2024.
Evander Kane And Oilers Look To Repeat Stanley Cup Finals Appearance
Last year, Kane and the Oilers had an amazing run to the Stanley Cup finals. Kane was one of the largest contributors to the team when the playoffs rolled around and was certainly considered one of the most productive wingers on the team.
Of course, though, they would eventually lose to the Florida Panthers, but they will certainly be eyeing another trip to the Finals and a chance to secure the Stanley Cup.
