On Monday, the lives of NHL star Johnny Gaudreau and his brother Matthew were celebrated with a memorial service at St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church in Media, PA. The service took place behind closed doors, but fans were furious at this reporter who was outside.
As friends and family walked to the church, a reporter was waiting outside, trying to ask questions to guests. At one point, he called out to Cole Caufield, a winger for the Montreal Canadians.
Many NHL fans were absolutely furious at this reporter for disturbing the service.
“Whoever called out Cole Caufield for an interview has absolutely no regards for grieving situation wife Meredith and the Gaudreau family are living thru,” said one comment.
“Absolutely disgusting. What kind of vultures take advantage of this situation to profit or get a quote. Whoever this guy is, he should be absolutely ashamed of himself. Acting like hes covering a game,” said another.
“100% agree with this… there is a time and a place for interviews and this was not the place for it for Cole or Patrik or any of the other boys from the teams. Just leave them be to grieve!” added a third.

“The media is absolutely disgusting. Journalism used to be so much better and respected. Sad,” continued a fourth.
There’s certainly a time and place for an interview and this certainly wasn’t either.
Johnny Gaudreau’s Wife Meredith Announced Third Pregnancy
During the funeral, Meredith Gaudreau, Johnny’s wife, announced she is expecting her third child.
“I’m in my ninth week of pregnancy with our third baby,” she said, according to NBC News. “A total surprise, but again, John was beaming and so excited. I was so nervous, again, total surprise. But his reaction was just immediately kissing me and hugging me even though I was driving the car.”
