Nearly every NHL fan, both Canadian and American are tuning in to the watch the Stanley Cup Finals match-up between the Western Conference champion Edmonton Oilers and Eastern Conference champion Florida Panthers.
A main stay of these broadcast has been ESPN, who’s been the host of an intermission show including the likes of Mark Messier, PK Subban, and Steve Levy. However, an interesting appearance was made during the intermission of game two.
Former NBA superstar Charles Barkley made an appearance and he reminded fans of just how small NHL athletes could be compared NBA athletes as well as just how tall the former power forward is.
Fans had a blast after a post with a picture of the moment Barkley joined the broadcast went viral, NHL fans had a blast joking about the size difference between him and the rest of the esteemed crew.

It should be noted that both Subban and Messier are not small guys themselves as the self proclaimed Subbanator stands at 6-foot while the six-time Stanley Cup champ stands at 6-foot-2 himself.

One fan noted that while Messier has trimmed down since playing days back in the 80’s and 90’s while “Barkley just keeps expanding.” And there is no question that it’s the truth while looking at the photo.
While Barkley may not be on the ice, the on ice entertainment has ramped over the past two games fans are beginning to see just how much the two finals teams dislike eachother, as we will see more bad blood when game three happens in Edmonton on Thursday.
