The Pittsburgh Steelers are bringing in a pretty big-name player this week.
The Pittsburgh Steelers have an open roster spot and are looking into former South Carolina running back ZaQuandre White, according to The Score’s Jordan Schultz.
The 24-year-old spent last season on the Miami Dolphins practice squad after going undrafted in the 2022 NFL Draft. He most recently played for the Birmingham Stallions of the XFL.
The former Gamecocks back rushed for 642 yards and two touchdowns during his two seasons at South Carolina, averaging 6.6 yards per carry as a senior.
For the Stallions, he rushed for 128 yards and two touchdowns and caught another.
Following the retirement of rookie fullback Monte Pottebaum, the team currently have 89 players on their roster. If the Steelers go forward with this signing, White would be the third player from one of the two spring leagues to join the Steelers, alongside wide receiver Hakeem Butler and cornerback Luq Barcoo.

The Birmingham Stallions have won the first two championships of USFL 2.0. The Stallions capped off their second straight title run earlier this month with a 28-12 win over the Pittsburgh Maulers. In two seasons with 24 total games, the Stallions have posted a record of 21-3 under coach Skip Holtz.
The Stallions are quickly becoming a powerhouse where NFL teams might look for talent to bring in as we see with ZaQuandre White.
