A Seattle Seahawks rookie really stood out during Thursday’s preseason game against the Minnesota Vikings.
Zack Charbonnet, who was drafted in this year’s second round as the No. 52 overall pick, got six touches in the 24-13 win as he rushed for 14 yards on four carries and made two catches for another 14 yards.
The rookie’s ability to withstand contact has been particularly impressive and, in the clip below, he can be seen decking Vikings safety Lewis Cine by lowering his helmet and initiating the contact on the run on two occasions.

Charbonnet is expected to get significant touches during the season but it’s worth noting that DeeJay Dallas got the first backfield snap. Still, he is likely to play a big role for Seattle in 2023, especially given that Dallas only went for one yard on two carries despite starting.
The former Michigan and UCLA star dealt with a shoulder injury this offseason, yet he didn’t show any signs of that during Thursday’s game. He is tipped to be the No. 2 option on the depth chart behind Kenneth Walker.
