It was a roller coaster rookie season for Zach Wilson in New York. There were way more bad than good, but that was expected when he got taken so high by a franchise that was bad long before he got there.
Wilson ended up being selected at No. 2 overall by the New York Jets, marking the highest draft position for any former BYU football player in school history.
Through his first six games, the Jets went 1-5 and Wilson threw four touchdowns against nine interceptions. He found it hard to lead his team to points in many games as he kept turning the ball over.
What people did not realize is that Wilson cooled down on his interceptions towards the later games and his mom wanted everybody to know it.
In fact, Lisa Wilson shared a stat that shows Zach and Aaron Rodgers were the only two quarterbacks in the entire league who started the last five weeks and did not throw a single interception.
After he returned for the Week 12 game against the Texans, Zach Wilson only threw two interceptions in the final seven games, along with five passing touchdowns and four rushing scores.
