The New York Jets are expected to trade Zach Wilson soon, but NFL insiders doubt the team will get much out of the deal. His value is in the dumps.
For the New York Jets, the Zach Wilson era is almost done. With the return of experienced quarterback Aaron Rodgers and three seasons of subpar quarterback play, New York knows it needs to improve at backup quarterback.
ESPN’s Rich Cimini published a story Tuesday after he spoke with three personnel executives, one scout, and two assistants to gauge Wilson’s value.
The Jets could receive a sixth- or seventh-round pick for Wilson, or be included in a mid-round pick swap.
One person had a brutal assessment of the QB.
“I’d give up a two-week stay at a Best Western,” one assistant coach told Cimini of Wilson. “I’m not a fan.”

Wilson was thrust back into the starting lineup and his past struggles continued. The Jets benched Wilson in mid-November and informed him that he would be traded in the offseason.
